Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Beeraday app collects, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to keep it short and plain.
Who we are
Beeraday is operated by Beeraday Pty Ltd (ACN 703 033 158), a company registered in Victoria, Australia. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Beeraday Pty Ltd. You can contact us at hello@getbeeraday.com.
What we collect, and why
Your account. If you create an account we collect your email address and a password. You can also add a display name and a profile photo. We use these to run your account and show your profile. Your password is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication, which stores it in a protected form that we can't read. Each account is also given a random ID.
Your location. With your permission, and only while you're using the app, Beeraday uses your location to find nearby pubs and bars, show distance and direction, find nearby deals, and show the local weather forecast. Nearby venues are found with Apple Maps on your phone. Your coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to get the weather. For Daily Deals, our server receives the name of the venue being checked and the suburb and state you're in, not your exact coordinates. We don't keep a history of where you've been.
Health and fitness. If you choose to connect Apple Health, Beeraday reads your workouts and step counts to work out how many beers you've burned. This information is read and used on your phone only. It isn't uploaded to us or shared with anyone, and it isn't used for advertising or marketing.
Things stored on your phone. Your logged workouts, weight, drink-unit preference and other settings are kept on your device. We don't receive them.
Photos and camera. Beeraday only asks for your photo library or camera when you choose to set a profile photo, and uses only the picture you select.
Notifications. Happy hour reminders and workout congratulations are created on your phone. We don't send push notifications from a server.
Other services we use
- Google Firebase stores your account details and profile photo, and runs our servers.
- Open-Meteo provides the weather forecast.
- Brave Search and Anthropic (Claude) are used by our servers to find and summarise publicly available deal information from venues' own websites. They receive venue names and suburbs, not information about you.
- Apple provides Maps and Health on your device.
- Google Maps opens when you tap directions, showing the venue's location. Google's own privacy policy applies from that point.
Some of these services process data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't show ads, we don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app at any time: open your profile and choose Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account, profile and photo from our systems. Information stored only on your phone is removed when you delete the app. If you need help, email us.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using Google's secured infrastructure and access rules that let you reach only your own account data. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Age
Beeraday is about pubs and alcohol and is intended for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app.
